Welcome to the Oakhill College Website

Oakhill College is a Catholic Independent Secondary College conducted in the tradition of the De La Salle Brothers and serving the Diocese of Parramatta.  Enrolment is boys only for Years 7 – 10 and co-educational in Years 11 and 12.  We have a total enrolment of 1600 students.

As a Catholic school, our first priority is to our Religious Education program which is compulsory for all students.  The College also celebrates its Catholicity through its liturgical and prayer programs and by encouraging our young people to be engaged in social action and missionary work.

Whilst Year 7 enrolment is non-selective, we value academic achievement at Oakhill and to ensure that high achievers reach their full potential, we stream our core subjects for Years 7 – 10.  Our academic results, which are published annually, speak for themselves.

Over the years our energetic Drama and Music departments have established a reputation for excellence.  A major musical is scheduled every second year and there are always opportunities for young performers to display their talents.

Agriculture continues to be an attraction for students of the College and many students who do not follow the curriculum-based course, enjoy participation in the Show Team, which presents animals at the Royal Easter Show, Castle Hill Show and other local show grounds.

Oakhill College is a full member of the Independent Sporting Association.  Our competitive sport is mostly played on Saturdays and students have the opportunity to represent the State through the Combined Independent Schools system.

Oakhill College aims to produce citizens who are sensitive and committed to spiritual values and who are able to take their place as well-rounded contributors to our society.

Oakhill College

Oakhill College acquired its name from the property on which it was built. It was originally the residence of Sir Edward Owen Cox and its history dates back to the early days of the colony.

The De La Salle Brothers purchased the property in 1932. In 1937 a small school for boys (10 day and 20 boarding students) commenced which served the then rural area of the "Hills". The College grew slowly until in 1953, its enrolment reached 100.

In 1974 the decision was taken to phase out the boarding school and, in 1976 Oakhill College became a co-educational senior school. The phasing out of primary classes commenced in 1980, and by 1983, Oakhill College was enrolling only secondary students.

Today the total enrolment of the College is 1600.
