Walk the Talk

Wednesday Evening, 27th November, myself and Ms. K Robertson were honoured to chaperone some of our Year 10 students to the Inaugural “Walk the Talk” awards evening. The event was to acknowledge the hard work these students have committed themselves to throughout the year; to raise awareness and funds for our local women’s shelter – The Sanctuary. In 2019 these boys have dressed up, taken photos and collected funds at the Rocketman Movie night (run by The Sanctuary), sold over 1000 cupcakes at Mission Action Day, sold Lolly Bags, organised a raffle and have made video clips to show their support in breaking barriers and challenging stereotypes. Each student was presented with a certificate and acknowledged by the community. These students who engaged in the program are absolutely inspirational, and the work they have undertaken to support their local shelters gives us real hope that perhaps we can bring about generation change and make a tangible difference.
