Success @ Ryde Eisteddfod

The Oakhill College Saxophone Ensemble entered the Ryde Eisteddfod on 9th August, against some talented string ensembles from Ryde Secondary College, St Ignatius College, and St Ives High School. The Oakhill College boys played exceptionally difficult pieces, ‘Just for Show’ and ‘Mancini Meets Mambo’ and won First Prize.

There was a student from each grade represented in the ensemble and all had a tremendous work ethic, a strong sense of brotherhood and mateship, and a commitment to music, turning up to rehearsals very early every Tuesday mornings.

Congratulations to Nick Lynch (Yr 12), Anthony Losurdo and Michael D’Souza (Yr 11), Josh Proctor  (Yr 10), Patrick Dixon (Yr 9), Dylan Ngyuen and Braeden Correa (Yr 8), and Lachlan Daly (Yr 7). A big thank you to Br Bill and James Walder (Student teacher) for their support.
