Students Talk to Hills Shire Times about Law Society Lecture Series
May 12, 2020 Oakhill News

Currently, 650 students from 61 schools in the Hills and Northern Districts are taking part in a new online program for future lawyers developed by the Law Society of NSW. The Future Lawyers Program has been developed as an alternative to the traditional Mock Law Trials program due to COVID-19 restrictions.

Ryan and Sid from Year 11 have been chosen to participate in this program and have adapted well to the new online format. The boys are both keen Legal Studies students and are finding this experience invaluable as they are planning a career in this field. This opportunity has given them the chance to learn from experienced lawyers and allowed them to compete at a high level, as well as experience practically the running of a court case in a true to life adversarial setting.

Special thanks to Miss Robertson and Miss Fairall for the planning and preparation involved in allowing our students to participate in this opportunity.

The Lecture Series runs for six weeks and covers different topics and lecturers and will finish at the end of June. We look forward to hearing more about this experience from the boys after the Lecture Series.
