Oakhill College is committed to creating lifelong learners who are prepared for a future as collaborative, creative and connected citizens.

The College operates a bring your own device (BYOD) environment, that is multi-platform and is supported by Google Apps as well as other faculty specific software. Learning is highly visible and we promote a transparent declaration of the curriculum to support the learning outcomes for our students, offering 24/7 access for parents, students and staff. The Australian Curriculum Learning Continuum of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Capability guides our integration of ICT across all subject areas as ICT should not be taught in isolation rather in context and authentically. Our learning design supports relevant, engaging and active learning where technology provides essential tools to communicate, design, share and create.

The following tools are essential to our workflow:

Google Drive: where students create and house their day to day work.

Sentral Parent/Student Portal: where staff, parents and students can communicate and manage welfare needs.

Hapara Teacher Dashboard: where staff and parents can view and interact with students’ work and provide feedback.

Learning@Oakhill Website: Where students access their day to day learning plans, assessment tasks and resources.

The BYOD program requires all enrolled students to own and bring an approved laptop device to school every day. Information on the BYOD including what constitutes an approved device can be found on our ICT help site INSIGHT. http://insight.oakhill.nsw.edu.au/about/

The College operates a helpful team of ICT Support Staff that are available to assist all students, staff and parents with using and accessing technology. The team is available throughout term-time and school holidays from 8am-4pm daily.
