On Saturday 2nd November Oakhill College’s Inaugural Race Day took place at Rosehill Gardens. It was a fantastic success, both socially and financially. Over 470 people attended taking part not only in the fun of the race track but in the many and varied activities on offer. Many thanks again to our generous sponsors and donors, our attendees and everyone that supported the day. It was a day where parents, teachers, businesses and the Oakhill College community at large were able to celebrate, have fun and form connections. We raised in excess of $68, 000 with our final amount to be announced at our P&F Christmas function where we will present our promised fundraising cheque to our nominated charity, Yourtown. All of this would not have been possible without our strong Race Day Parent Committee of 20 people who were strongly supported by Br Steve Hogan, Mr Bob Munday and their exceptional Senior Administrator, Ms Renee Chong. We also thank our student helpers on the day who shone and did our school proud selling tickets and being hospitable to all our guests.
Congratulations to all our winners on the day, especially our Mega Online Raffle winners;
- Tracy Cowling—$3,000 Travel Voucher (Estilo Sports Travel) & Samsonite luggage (Spartan School Supply Specialist)
- Alan Oxford—A night’s accommodation at Loxley on Bellbird Hill’s Peppercorn Lodge for up to 18 people including hamper and sparkiling wine on arrival and breakfast (Loxley on Bellbird Hill)

When we undertook this Race Day event, our two goals were to build community and to raise funds. We look forward to more of these goals being met in 2020 and wish you all the best for the weeks leading up to Christmas and New Year.
