On Tuesday 21st November Year 10 students, as part of their Transition Program, were privileged to hear from a panel of men from diverse backgrounds and experiences. The two hour ‘Panel of Men’ session unpacked topics of relevance for young men such as peer pressure, hiding behind excuses, fears and phobias, drugs and driving, and what it means to stand on their own feet in a complex and changing world. The boys were extremely captivated not only by the stories but the real life examples the panel shared. ‘Panel of Men’ is about providing our boys with an opportunity to listen to men some who have at times fallen but pulled themselves back up and kept moving forward. Men who are resilient and can inspire our boys.
Thank you to Mark Geyer, Colin Seiders, Tony Prior, Gerard Maggs, Mark Portelli and Josh Hunter who made themselves available for our ‘panel’ and who were an invaluable assistance in helping to raise a generation of honourable young men who understand their purpose and have a clear sense of their identity and future.
