February 15, 2018 Oakhill News

The Oakhill College swimmers started 2018 in fine form on Friday the 9th February at Homebush in the St Andrew’s Invitational Swimming Carnival. Oakhill College managed to retain the shield that they have won at this carnival for the last several years.

The success of the evening was the result of the combined effort of all age groups. The senior swimmers were role models to all the enthusiastic new junior swimmers in the team. The Oakhill “determined spirit” was evident in all the closely contested races. Team spirit being evident throughout the night, especially in the exciting relay races.

The swimmers now face the formidable task of trying to recapture the coveted ISA Swimming crown on the 14th March. They will compete at Homebush against a number of schools with an array of exceptional talent. St Augustine’s College are the current overall ISA champions.

Enroute to the ISA Carnival next month, the swimmers will first compete at the Barker Invitational Carnival on the 1st March and then the Oakhill Invitational Carnival on the 7th March.
