On Wednesday April 26th Oakhill College held its Annual ANZAC Day Service. The Guest of Honour was alumnus of 1984, Commander Jocelyn Oates, from the Royal Australian Navy. With the assistance of Mr Phil Owen (Teacher) the College was able to re-establish the Catafalque Party this year consisting of Guard Commander Joel Scaramella; Army Cadets – Jesse Garofano, James Marsden, and Lachlan Elliot; and Air Force Cadet – Nicholas Black. Of note amidst a very moving and profound service acclaimed by all were the texts and prayers that caused all in attendance to remember and reflect. In particular, ‘I Was Nineteen’ sung by Nicholas Lowe; ‘Safety of Distance’ sung by the Year 7; and ‘The War to End All Wars’ read by the Year 10 Leaders. Thank you to Mr Munday (DP) and staff involved.
