Jack Breene (Yr10) flies solo

Jack joined the Australian Air Force Cadets, Squadron 336 Richmond RAAF Base, when he was in Year 8, 2015. Jack has passed all his academic aviation exams and practical powered flying lessons each term with Distinction.

In June of this year, having achieved the required flying hours under instruction of his Commanding Officer, and passing the CASA Aviation Medical Examination, Jack carried out his first powered solo flight in a Piper Warrior. Jack had to demonstrate a successful take off, landing, ascend, descend, turning, engine stall and emergency circuits.

In October of this year Jack was awarded his Student Pilot Licence. Jack is now able to fly solo. In November Jack was awarded the ‘Dux of Pro’ stage in his Squadron (Academic Dux for his intake group).

Jack hopes to study at ADFA and become a commercial pilot.
