A group of 11 students embarked on a journey to the North Island of New Zealand. The trip began with a spiritual and cultural journey north to the Hokianga. A formal welcome on a Marae, a tour of the geothermal north, sand dunes, bird sanctuaries and a visit of the Waipoua forest to meet Tane Mahuta and their inner values. Then south through Auckland to Rotorua to visit some amazing geological sites: Whakapapa National Park, Mt Ruapehu, Mt Tarawera (the site of the 1886 destruction of the Pink and White Terraces) and finally a day trip to the active volcano White Island, in the Bay of Plenty.
